Skin rejuvenation with pulsed light, also known as photofacial, is a non-invasive treatment that easily and quickly improves the overall appearance of the skin.

This intense pulsed light (IPL) technology uses wavelengths with specialized filters to deliver light pulses to precise depths to target and treat specific conditions, such as pigmented and vascular lesions, without damaging the surrounding healthy skin. The affected lesions will slowly disappear through the body's natural healing process. In just a few sessions, your complexion will be revitalized, even, and your skin will regain its youthful glow!

The skin rejuvenation technology used at ExcelleMD Esthétique is the only one to offer the Skintel® melanin reader, an advanced technology for measuring the skin's melanin index with each treatment. The technician can therefore determine the ideal parameters for each patient, increasing the safety and efficacy of each treatment.

  1. Appointment at the clinic

During the evaluation, the technician will ensure that your skin is suitable for receiving intense pulsed light treatment and that you do not have any contraindications. Together, you will discuss your goals and establish a personalized treatment plan tailored to the needs of your skin.

Before starting the treatment, the technician will clean your skin to remove any traces of makeup or product and apply a gel to the area to be treated. They will also provide you with protective glasses to shield your eyes from the light during the treatment. When the light pulses are delivered into your skin, you may feel a sensation resembling small pinches or bursts of heat. These sensations will almost immediately disappear, but a slight warmth may persist for a few hours following the treatment.

Throughout the procedure, you will experience continuous cooling coming directly from the handpiece, aiming to make the treatment more comfortable.

Once the treatment is complete, the technician will rinse your skin and apply a refreshing gel to it.

  1. Following the visit

Immediately after your photorejuvenation session, your skin may show redness and/or swelling, which will generally resolve in 2 to 3 days.

Your technician will provide you with post-treatment recommendations to avoid the risk of complications.

You will be able to resume your usual activities immediately after your session.
